Dr. Kévin Le Verger

My research is part of a global objective to decipher morphological variation using 3D geometric morphometrics to improve phylogenies. I work on several vertebrate clades focusing on complex phenomena, such as allometry, or analyzing the components of morphological variation through artificial selection. My current projects concern :

  • The evolution of Paleogene predatory mammals (mostly Carnivora) in Europe.
  • The diversity of Pleistocene Xenarthra.
  • The impact of gigantism on the morphological variation of Xenarthra and Sirenia.
  • The developmental and functional biology of Cingulata.
  • The development of defense strategies in Amniotes.
  • Phenomics of goldfishes.
  • Early phases of domestication on fish morphology.
